Catherine Bizern
Catherine Bizern is the General Delegate of the Cinéma du Réel festival.
Following the ‘Rencontres du cinéma documentaire’ in Seine Saint Denis, Catherine Bizern directed the Entrevues International Film Festival in Belfort from 2006 to 2012. She then went on to become programming director for various events, including ‘Cinéma du Québec à Paris’ and ‘Le Jour le plus Court’, while collaborating with the Locarno Film Festival until 2018.
Since 2000, she has worked as an independent producer and film consultant in cinematographic writing alongside her main activity. She is a speaker at various training courses and contributes to the magazine ARTPRESS.
In September 2018, she was appointed General Delegate of the ‘Cinéma du réel’ festival and also became the Artistic Director of the ‘Centre des écritures cinématographiques’ at the Moulin d'Andé. In the framework of Cinéma du réel and its professional sector, Parisdoc, she has created the European Classic Documentary Film Rendez-vous, which will hold its 5th edition on Friday, 29 March 2024.
