Julien Marcel is the founder and CEO of The Boxoffice Company,
leading provider of digital marketing and professional information services to cinemas in Europe and the US. Julien Marcel was also Managing Director of AlloCiné (Webedia Group) from 2020 to 2024.
A recognised expert on cinemas, Julien Marcel is a regular speaker at French, European and international conferences on the theatrical distribution. He is also the author of the 2022 book Hollywood année zéro (published by Boxoffice), which analysed the impact of the COVID crisis on the film industry.
Committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities, in 2023 he founded the Fondation Culture & Handicap, under the aegis of the Fondation Perce-Neige, which is spearheading the project to create Perce-Neige Live in Boulogne Billancourt, the first inclusive cultural centre in France. He is also a member of the boards of Culture Relax and Prospector Theater, the first cinema in the United States to employ people with disabilities.
Julien Marcel is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and holds an MBA from ESSEC.
