Celebrating the Richness of Taiwanese Cinema and Industry

Taiwanese cinema occupies a unique place in the history of world cinema. Celebrated for its artistic audacity, deeply humanistic vision and distinctive cinematic language, it has inspired generations of filmmakers and audiences across the globe. From the emergence of the Taiwanese New Cinema movement to today's ambitious restoration initiatives, Taiwan continues to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to preserving, restoring and sharing its cinematic heritage with international audiences.

This year, the International Classic Film Market is proud to present Taiwan in Focus, a special program developed in partnership with the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute (TFAI). Designed for accredited professionals, this spotlight celebrates the richness and diversity of Taiwan's film heritage while showcasing the remarkable work carried out to preserve and promote it internationally.

Bringing together archives, restoration experts, rights holders, distributors, festivals and cultural institutions, Taiwan in Focus offers a unique opportunity to discover newly restored masterpieces, exchange expertise, build new partnerships and strengthen international collaboration around classic cinema.
