Eric Miot

Miot Eric Alamachere

Eric Miot is general delegate for Plan-Séquence and the Arras Film Festival.

Born in 1962 in Dunkirk. With a master's degree in public law, he worked for the French Ministry of Education from 1986 to 2007. He was then responsible for creating and developing a cultural service at the Université d'Artois. At the same time, he worked in the film industry, first as a volunteer at Studio 43 in Dunkirk, then as a professional.

In 1990, he helped found Plan-Séquence, an association dedicated to promoting cinema and educational initiatives in the Nord-Pas de Calais region.

From 1990 to 1998, together with his brother David Miot, he co-programmed several cinemas, including two arthouse cinemas at the Les Arcades complex in Dunkirk, and for three years directed a major event in the same city dedicated entirely to heritage cinema.

From 1999 to 2015, he programmed a cinema at the Majestic cinema in Lille, which has become a national landmark for the diffusion of heritage and repertory films, as well as for its activities aimed at young audiences. This commitment culminated in 2000, when he and Nadia Paschetto co-founded the Arras Film Festival, an international event dedicated primarily to European cinema, of which he has been general delegate ever since. Over the years, he has participated in numerous national and regional professional bodies.

Today, he is a board member of the Association Française des Cinémas d'Art et d'Essai, where he has been in charge of the repertory group since June 2016. He has also lectured at several universities and at FEMIS.
