Matěj Strnad is the Head of Curators in Národní filmový archiv, Prague (NFA).
He coordinates the workings of the department and special acquisition, restoration and curatorial projects. Previously, he coordinated digital restoration projects at the NFA.
He is also currently drafting the institution’s Collection Policy. Strnad graduated from the Center for Audiovisual Studies at FAMU, where he now occasionally lectures on audiovisual archiving. He serves as the Head of Programming and Access to Collections Commission (PACC) of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF). During his tenure, PACC has focused, among other things, on the issue of screening fees, inter-archival relations and public domain.
In 2018, Strnad conceptualized and coordinated the FIAF Symposium On Sharing, which took place within the 74th FIAF Congress in Prague.
