Luciano Castillo

Luciano Castillo is director of the Cuban Cinematheque.

Photo-Luciano-CastilloLuciano Castillo (Cuba, 1955). Film historian and critic. Master in Latin American Culture. Member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. He has published, among others, the books: The truth 24 times per second, Concert in images, With the madness of the senses, Ramón Peón, the man with the black globules, Between living and dreaming : Pioneers of Cuban cinema and the definitive edition in four volumes of Chronology of Cuban cinema, winner of the Literary Critics Award. His extensive bibliography also includes: Conversations with Jean-Claude Carrière, Carpentier in the kingdom of the image, Cinema is cutting; Cuban cinema in backlight, Trains in the night and Group portrait without a camera, The cinephile's bible and 1968: a key year for Cuban cinema, as well as The indiscrete charm of Buñuel, The Buñuel mystery and Titón against los demons. He is currently director of the Cuban Cinematheque.
