Valérie Combard is a film researcher and archive producer, she works mainly on historical and cultural documentaries. She has lived and worked in New York for six years, and is currently established in Paris.
She has taken part in series revolving around the history of the 20th century, and also works on films about the movie industry figures.
Her American experience boosted her knowledge of public domain and fair use rules, and she has been working with American attorneys on the best ways to apply fair use practices in documentaries.
She has received the following awards as a film researcher: Emmy (1995), Focal (2004), Gémeaux (2014), Barbara Sears (Canadian Screen, 2014).
She is presently working on several documentary projects.
