Ernesto Daranas

Ernesto Daranas is a Director and a Screenwriter.

Ernesto Daranas Serrano (Havana, 1961) Director and screenwriter based in Havana, Cuba. His fiction and non-fiction work has had world premieres at Venice, Toronto, and Havana. His films have received numerous awards (Goa, Málaga, Huelva, Giffoni, Brasilia...) as well as nominations for the Goya, Platino, Latin Grammy and Ariel Awards. His feature films Los Dioses Rotos (2008) and Behavior (2014) were Cuba's submissions to the Oscars. His documentary Landrián (2023) was in the Official Selection at the 80th Venice Film Festival. He received the King of Spain Award for his documentary The Last Gaiteros of Havana (2004).
