Mehelli Modi is the Managing Director of Second Run DVD

Born into a filmmaking family in India, Mehelli Modi came to London in the 1960s and has had a long and varied career in the Music industry. However, Mehelli’s first love has always been cinema and, in 2005, he founded Second Run DVD, a company dedicated releasing important classic and contemporary feature films and documentaries from around the world. Their catalogue is now at over 180 titles and growing and includes works from some of cinema’s most admired and adventurous filmmakers such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Miklós Jancsó, Věra Chytilová, Pedro Costa, Miloš Forman, Nicolas Philibert, Kim Longinotto, František Vláčil, Tsai Ming-liang, Joshua Oppenheimer, Mania Akbari, Radu Jude, Marc Isaacs. Second Run also regularly hosts screenings across the UK, often with the filmmakers in attendance, bringing world cinema to new audiences.
