SVT (Sveriges Television AB) is the public service broadcaster in Sweden, since 1956. SVT has four TV channels and the on-line platform is SVT Play which has equal importance in the company strategy.

She is head of feature film acquisitions since 2010 and is based at SVT International a department in Stockholm. The job comprises all aspects from screening to decision making and programming. SVT currently has 7-8 slots per week for feature films. Older Swedish films are broadcast during daytime two days a week. There is also one matinee slot for foreign language films per week.

10-15 films are published on online platform SVT Play (www.svtplay.se) each week. These are the films that will be broadcast the following week plus 2nd runs. The films are available for 30 days.

SVT takes pride in being a major platform for Swedish films in Sweden. From Victor Sjöström’s Körkarlen which was broadcast on the 100 year anniversary of its première in 2021, Fanny & Alexander (the five hour version) on Christmas Day every year since 2017 to Triangle of Sadness on October 7th 2023. The remit to broadcast and stream a large amount of Swedish films is something SVT has taken upon itself it is not by decree.
